Please offer your scientific and case related contributions when registering online. Every single contribution is very welcome. We really encourage you to take an active role in the annual meeting. Bear in mind that the main purpose of the meeting is the exchange of ideas. That’s the way we can learn from one another.
Just like we did over the last years, the program will contain sessions on different topics from the fields of forensic textile and hair analysis. So please consider whether you can contribute to one or more of the sessions below.
- Evaluation: What do you conclude once all the evidence is gathered? Are there any tools you use? How do you assess the strength of the evidence?
- Instrumentation and methodology: Do you develop new technologies or methodologies? This might be the next ground-breaking method, but also a small improvement that just makes life a bit easier. The stages of development of the presented technique or method are not relevant.
- Shedding, Transfer and Persistence, Background: The movements of fibres and hairs are very important subject, as much can be learned on what happened on the crime scene. Much is known on their transfer. However, we always find cases in which current knowledge does not suffice and we need new analyses. And what about the fibre/hair background on different surfaces? Did you carry out any tests or have new insights? Please Share!
- Faster than CSI: A Case in <15 minutes. Meant for small case descriptions. Please present a case that you consider relevant to share. Please describe your case in 12 minutes (or less) and leave time for questions.
- Miscellaneous: Meant for pure knowledge transfer. Not necessarily the result of R&D or other projects within your own lab. General info or introductions are welcome. The subject should be loosely connected to textiles or hairs. We are e.g looking for presenters who worked in a special case and want to share some things they learned from literature study or other enquiries. Indication for length: 15 minutes.
Please indicate to what topics you can contribute and provide a draft title (and a short abstract, if possible) during registration.
